The Right At Home Project
Wednesday, March 21, 2018 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Peter Amerongen – President, Habitat Studio

Alberta is a leader in net zero energy buildings with between 50 and 100 residential projects already operating in our province.

Can larger buildings achieve net zero?

The 30,000 sq. ft. Right At Home Project breaks new ground on many fronts. The sixteen stacked townhouse units – affordable housing primarily for large immigrant families, and the new church, daycare, and community building have been designed to use so little energy that the 117KW rooftop photovoltaic system and geothermal system will produce all the energy needed annually for heating, cooling, hot water, lighting and appliances.

Edmonton’s veteran net zero energy building designer/builder, Peter Amerongen of Habitat Studio, will cover the planning and design processes that go into larger projects. He will also describe the amazing teamwork, the tools, and technology that made this project successful.
